Statement of Faith

1. We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 3:16,17; 28:19)

2. We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the Cross, a sacrifice for our sins, according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, and ascended into Heaven, where, seated at the right hand of God the Father, He is now our High Priest and Advocate. (John 1:1-14; Matthew 1:18-25; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4)

3. We believe in the Holy Spirit, whose ministry it is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to convict men of sin, to regenerate those who believe, to indwell, to guide, to instruct, and to empower the believer for godly living and service. (John 16:7-14)

4. We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testament, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. (Psalm 19:7011; 2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:16-21)

5. We believe that man was created in the image of God, but that man fell into sin and is therefore lost. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. (Genesis 1:26; Romans 5:12-14; John 3:3-6)

6. We believe in the substitutionary blood atonement of Jesus Christ and His Resurrection, which provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe. Only such as receive Jesus Christ as their own personal Savior are born of the Holy Spirit, thus becoming children of God. (John 3:6-18; Romans 5:15-21; 1 Peter 2:24)

7. We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Communion) are ordinances to be observed by the Church during this present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation. (Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

8. We believe that the true Church consists only and entirely of those who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit in their hearts and lives, and by the personal appropriation of His saving work on Calvary, which unites them together in the Body of Christ, of which He is the Head. (1 Corinthians 12:12; Ephesians 5:23)

9. We believe in the personal and premillennial and imminent coming again of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that this “Blessed Hope” has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:12,13)

10. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord in Heaven; of the unbeliever to judgment by total separation from God and everlasting conscious punishment in hell. (1 Corinthians 15:50-55; Revelation 20:11-15)

11. We believe that Satan is a living being, the author of sin and the cause of the fall of man; that he is the open and avowed enemy of God and all of God’s people, and that he, as the prince and power of darkness and the deceiver of men, will finally establish the Antichrist as the ruler of the world, and the false prophet as his ecclesiastical assistant, until Christ returns. Christ then will defeat Satan’s forces in the world and cast him into the Lake of Fire, where he will be punished eternally. (John 8:44; Matthew 13:19,39; Ephesians 6:11,12; Revelation 13; 20:10)

12. We believe that the Great Evangelistic Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ--“Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”--is the obligation of the Church in every generation. (Matthew 26:18-20; Acts 1:8)
